Everything is online and self-paced — start, stop, and pick up where you left off anytime before your deadline. Because your state requires the hours for CE credit, each course tracks your seat time, so plan on spending the full credit hours (an 8-hour course takes 8 hours). Most courses can be completed on your desktop or mobile device. Your certificate is available to download the moment you complete, and in most states we report your hours the next business day.
Every state sets its own CE requirements, so start with your state’s page on our site — it lists only the courses approved for your state and the hours they count for. Your state board sets your total required hours and deadline, and we link to your board’s site on every state page. Bundles package the hours most licensees need for a full renewal at a lower price than buying courses individually. Not sure which applies to you? In most states, we report your completion directly to your state board on the next business day — nothing to submit on your end. A few states, like Georgia, require you to self-report; in those states we give you your certificate plus a direct link to your board’s reporting portal, an email address or mailing address with instructions. Your certificate stays in your account permanently in case your board ever audits your renewal. Just make sure the license number on your account is accurate, since that’s what we report against.
If your renewal deadline is coming up, don’t wait — most states currently accept our 2023 NEC courses, and your state page shows which code cycle your state requires today. Our 2026 NEC courses are in production and rolling out as each state board approves them with the goal of finishing all states by end of 2026 or earlier. Your deadline is set by your state, not the code cycle, so take what your state accepts now rather than risk missing your window.
Often, yes — many of our courses are approved in multiple states, so one completion can count toward several licenses. Each course page lists every state where it’s approved, so compare that list against your licenses before you buy. Keep in mind that hours and required topics still vary by state, so your totals may differ even when courses overlap. If you’ve already completed a course this renewal cycle, check bundle contents against your training history before buying.
